I have to say, the weather in New York lately has been very.. unusual.  Temperatures have been bouncing between frigid 20s and spring-like 50s.  Like an insane snow blizzard just finished about two hours ago when we were just enjoying 60 degree weather yesterday!  It has been interesting getting dressed these days and this look reflects my outfit planning during the current mix of seasons  – balancing winter layering with spring pops of colors and prints.

I layered a leather jacket under my coat for extra warmth and because I loved the edgy vibe it gave this flirty floral dress with my coat off.  It is no secret that I love florals and find a reason to wear them every season, winter being no exception.  No matter how cold it is outside, there is no harm in adding some flowers to your look to brighten up the gloominess of winter.

The minute I saw this dress on Zara’s site, I ordered it – as well as the midi skirt version of the same print – lol!  I was so drawn to this particular floral print as it is so unique amongst other floral printed items I own.  I love the array of vibrant colors and how they all come together to create such a pretty print.  This print is like a rainbow of florals and made me so excited to play around with color for this look!

My new favorite pair of velvet over-the-knee boots sealed the deal!  Not only did they balance out all of the black up top (and look great under my toffee coat), they complemented the dress so well and did not steal its thunder.  Okay, maybe just a little! 🙂 Completing the look is a black wool hat, my go-to Quay sunnies and favorite Alexander Wang clutch.
