Hi everyone! I can’t believe it’s already the end of September. It is officially Fall even though it doesn’t quite feel like it yet in NYC. It still feels like summer but everyone is still going crazy for pumpkin spice everything. Before you know it, Halloween will be here and then Thanksgiving, Christmas and boom, a new year! I don’t know if its just me but I feel like the last three months of the year always fly by so quickly. Like you blink and they’re gone and we’re in a new year. Like my fellow New Yorkers, I am more than ready for the weather to cool down so I can start wearing knits, jackets and bombers. Fall is my absolute favorite season and I love fall fashion, so I am more than ready for this 80 degree weather to go away.
I am so excited to finally share this new monthly series I am starting. This was one of my initial ideas when I started brainstorming for Humidity is the Enemy. Every month, I will take one piece of clothing, whether it be a jacket or a blouse and style it three different ways. Whenever I buy something new, I am always thinking of how many different looks I can create with it. If I can’t pair it with something I already own, it serves me no purpose to buy it because it will stay in my closet until I decide to donate or sell it. I’d rather buy something I will get a ton of wear from.
This month it is all about the Floral Varsity Bomber from the Who What Wear collection sold at Target. Every season, their collection gets better and better! I have bought a handful of pieces from their current fall collection which you will see today and continue to see here or on Instagram soon. I own a few bombers but this one definitely outshines the rest and is a unique statement in my closet. I love how fun and vibrant this bomber is. The colors are great to transition from summer into fall. This bomber can be styled so many different ways but today I’m showing you three looks.
Look 1: Who What Wear Varsity Bomber | J.Crew Shirt | Windsor Store Overalls | ZARA Sneakers | Quay Australia Sunnies
First, I decided to style the bomber with a graphic tee, white sneakers and a pair of overalls. These are my absolute favorite pair of overalls that I own! You may remember them from an earlier post this year. Any chance I get to wear these overalls, I take it because they are so comfy and I love distressed denim! This look is super casual – perfect for running errands or keeping it comfy on the weekend. Denim and bombers are a no brainer so even if you don’t own overalls, a tee and a pair of jeans will give you the same casual look.
Look 2: Who What Wear Varsity Bomber | J.Crew Tee | Who What Wear Trouser | H&M Shoes (similar pair here) | Alexander Wang Clutch | Quay Australia Sunnies
Next, I styled the bomber with a white tee, a pair of plaid trousers and fun heels. I love mixing prints! I think it is so fun and it creates a fun, bold look. Plaid is everywhere this season and is also another one of my favorite prints. These plaid pants are also a part of the Who What Wear collection from Target. They are so soft and comfortable – probably the most comfortable pair of trousers that I own! I love that the plaid on these pants is so subtle that is still allows the jacket to shine. I thought these purple shoes, which are so comfortable btw, would do a great job at dressing this look up while also bringing out the purple in the bomber. This is a great look for the office, especially if your dress code is more on the business-casual side.
Look 3: Who What Wear Varsity Bomber | GAP Tee | ZARA Shorts | Lola Shoetique Shoes | ZARA Backpack | Quay Australia Sunnies
Last, I paired this bomber with a grey tee, a pair of shorts and a pair of mesh heels. Like I mentioned before, it is still pretty warm in NYC. We’re at that point where its chilly in the morning so a light jacket or a cardigan is necessary but then its hot and muggy by the afternoon and you’re like ‘ugh, why did I bring this additional layer with me!?” This outfit is great for a brunch or a rooftop happy hour. What I really like about this particular look is how transitional it is. It’s not too casual but not too dressy but it can be worn either way. This look could be worn with a pair of sneakers if you want to keep it more casual. If you want to keep it dressy, heels or booties are the way to go.
Which look is your favorite?
